Cypriot court to consider appeal against asset freezing order against SCM on March 30

1 min read

An appeal against a provisional order dated December 27, 2017, by a Cypriot court in Nicosia on a freezing of the SCM Group's assets in a $820-million claim in a dispute with Cyprus-based Raga Establishment Limited will be considered on March 30, SCM's press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.

The court was supposed to hear the case on February 28, but the judge who ruled on the provisional freezing withdrew.

In December, a Cypriot court issued a provisional worldwide asset freezing order against Rinat Akhmetov and various SCM companies - part of a legal dispute with Cyprus-based firm Raga, which says SCM has not paid it in full for the 2013 sale of telecoms group Ukrtelecom.
